What Is Reiki & Energy Healing?
Reiki is a gentle, hands-on (or hands-off) energy healing modality that supports the body’s natural ability to regulate, release, and restore.
Rather than forcing change, Reiki works by:
Calming the nervous system
Supporting emotional processing
Creating a sense of safety within the body
Encouraging the body to shift out of chronic “fight or flight”
Many clients describe sessions as deeply relaxing, grounding, and clarifying — even when they don’t fully understand how it works.
A Grounded, Integrative Approach
At Root + Restore Wellness Collective, Reiki and energy healing are not separate from the body — they are woven into a whole-person approach to wellness.
As a Registered Nurse and functional wellness practitioner, I hold energy work within a trauma-informed, physiology-aware framework. Sessions are guided by the understanding that emotional stress, stored tension, and nervous system dysregulation can directly impact physical health.

Hi, I’m Caitlin
a Registered Nurse, functional wellness practitioner, and Reiki Master. My work is rooted in the understanding that the body holds an innate intelligence and a natural capacity for healing when it feels safe, supported, and seen.
In Reiki and energy healing sessions, my role is not to “fix” or force change. Instead, I serve as a conduit — showing up with presence, intuition, and deep respect for your energetic body and lived experience. Each session is guided by what your system is ready for in that moment, allowing your own healing wisdom to lead.
I approach this work through a grounded, trauma-informed lens, honoring both the subtle energetic layers of healing and the physiological realities of the nervous system. Sessions are held with care, consent, and attunement, creating space for regulation, release, and reconnection.
When appropriate and desired, I also offer aftercare support and resources to help you integrate your session. This may include gentle nervous system practices, reflection prompts, grounding tools, or complementary modalities to support ongoing regulation and embodiment.
Above all, my intention is to hold a safe, compassionate container — one rooted in love, presence, and trust in your body’s innate healing potential.
Stepping into a Reiki session is an invitation to slow down, reconnect, and restore balance within your nervous system and energetic body.
Sessions take place in our peaceful Reiki room, where you’ll rest comfortably on a massage table with soothing music to support deep relaxation. Each session is intentionally unhurried and tailored to your unique needs and intentions.
Caitlin may intuitively incorporate supportive tools such as:
Singing bowls
Crystals
Gentle sound or vibrational elements
These tools are used to deepen relaxation, promote energetic flow, and support chakra balancing.
Optional enhancements such as BrainTap or Biomat sessions may be available and can be added separately.
During Your Session
As the session begins, your practitioner will place her hands lightly on or just above specific areas of the head, limbs, and torso, typically holding each position for 2–5 minutes. If you have areas of chronic tension, injury, or discomfort, the session may focus more intentionally on those regions.
Many clients report sensations such as warmth, coolness, gentle pulsing, tingling, or a deep sense of calm. It’s also very common to drift into a meditative or sleep-like state during the session.
Every experience is unique — there is no “right” way to feel.
How to Prepare
To get the most from your Reiki session:
Wear comfortable clothing
Stay well-hydrated
Arrive with an open, curious, and receptive mindset
Reframe from using illicit substances and drinking alcohol the night before
No prior experience with Reiki or energy work is required.
